A+ Card Fundraiser
We are again selling A+ Cards as a fundraiser for the school. The money raised goes directly to students and helps pay for field trips and activities for students. Your child will bring home an order form and a parent letter explaining how it works. There are prizes for students according to how many cards they sell including free donuts, meals, etc. Students who sell 15 cards will participate in a free limo ride and a pizza lunch! There are also cash prizes for the top 3 sellers in the school. Money and order forms are due to the office by Friday, September 9. Please feel free to call the office if you have any questions.

First Week of School
We enjoyed seeing all our LPS families at Meet the Teacher! Just a few reminders for the first week of school.
- First day of school is Monday, August 22. Doors will open at 7:20 that day. We encourage you to walk your child to his or her classroom.
- After the first day, please use the parent drop off line if you are bringing your child to school. Assembly will begin at 7:45 and students are considered tardy at 7:55. We open our doors at 7:15. The earlier you get through the line, the faster it will be.
- Dismissal is 3:15. It is always longer than usual the first few weeks of school. It will get faster as children learn the routines.
- Please click here for more information about the first week.
We look forward to seeing everyone Monday morning!

Attention Parents of Incoming Kindergarten Students…
Please choose one of the four time slots to bring your child to show us how much they know and how excited they are for kindergarten. It is come and go and will only take 10-15 minutes. It is NOT required that you bring your child but we highly encourage it! We cannot wait to meet your children and get to know them a little better before the school year starts. If you have any questions, please email brooketaylor@lorenaisd.net. Thank you so much for your time and we look forward to seeing your children soon!

Letter from Miss Lina
Dear Lorena Primary Family,
WOW!
It is hard to believe that this school year is almost over. After 36 years working for Lorena ISD, I will
be retiring. I have been so blessed to
have been a part of this AWESOME district!
I have seen many changes in my 36 year career. However, there is one major constant in all
this time—the smiles, hugs, and love of all the children. The children are the reason that I love my
job and what I will miss the most.
I am thankful to the parents for
their patience, support and understanding.
Parents are an important as a member of the educational team. I appreciate all that the parents have done
for the school. The PTO is so
supportive. I could never say THANK YOU
enough for all you have done for the school and for me.
I am so blessed to have had the
opportunity to work with so many dedicated and caring teachers and support
staff. The love and care shown to our
students is evident in all that you do.
All members of the staff are willing to do whatever is needed to ensure
that the campus is a safe and loving place for learning.
Even though I will not be at school
each day, I will still be living in Lorena.
I look forward to seeing everyone at district and community events. I
love to go to sporting events—see you there!
I would like to hear of the successes of all.
Some have asked what I am going to
do. My answer has been, “Whatever,
Whenever”. I love to work in my yard, so
I can be found outside most days. I will
continue to be a life-long learner. Since I like to do crafts, I would like to
learn how to do stained glass and oil painting.
I will do some traveling. I love
to do home improvement projects as well. I am looking forward to the next
adventures in my life.
In closing, I want to thank everyone
for the amazing memories. I have made so
many friends and we have shared so many wonderful times. I will miss the day to day work with all of
my Lorena family. I wish everyone
continued success. May you find
happiness in all that you do!
Love,
Ms.
Lina
